Gut Health Dietitians and Nutritionists
TAMI ROWH, RD
As a Registered Dietitian/ Nutritionist with almost twenty years experience I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients from clinical settings to wellness. Since earning a Masters’ Degree in Wellness, I have focused primarily on holistic nutrition and the importance of the mind-body connection for health and wellness, becoming a yoga teacher to deepen my expertise that I now share with my clients as part of their wellness journey. I believe that good nutrition practices begin with awareness of where you are and making small and sustainable changes over time.
My superpower is the ability to take the complex science of nutrition and apply it to daily life in a way that is accessible and simple to implement. I credit military life as both an Army brat and wife for my ability to see complex problems as a series of small solutions- a skill that has served me in my own wellness pursuits as well as those of my clients. I have worked with clients in diabetes management, cardiac rehab, and chronic disease management as well as women’s wellness, gut health, auto-immune, eating disorders, weight loss, and hormone balance.
I’m happiest working with clients while my 4 Shiba Inu dogs sit at my feet, but I also make the
time for creating recipes in the kitchen, hiking, gardening, and golf as often as possible.

The Importance of Gut Health Nutrition
Understanding the Gut-Brain Connection
The gut and brain are interconnected through what is known as the gut-brain axis. Research has shown that the health of our gut directly impacts our mental and physical well-being. A balanced and thriving gut microbiome is essential for optimal digestion, nutrient absorption, immune function, and even mood regulation. Gut health nutrition focuses on nourishing and supporting a healthy gut microbiome to promote overall wellness.
Addressing Digestive Issues
Digestive issues such as bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) can significantly impact your quality of life. Our gut health nutritionists are experienced in addressing these digestive concerns through personalized nutrition strategies. They can help identify trigger foods, develop meal plans that support digestive wellness, and provide guidance on lifestyle factors that influence gut health.
Optimizing Overall Health
Optimizing your gut health goes beyond just addressing digestive issues. A healthy gut has far-reaching effects on your overall health. It supports a robust immune system, aids in the absorption of essential nutrients, influences hormone balance, and even impacts mental well-being. By prioritizing gut health nutrition, you can enhance your overall health and well-being.
Gut Health and Digestive Issues
Personalized Nutrition Solutions for Optimal Digestive Wellness
Understanding Gut Health
The gut, also known as the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, is a complex system responsible for the digestion, absorption, and assimilation of nutrients from the food we consume. It is also home to trillions of bacteria and other microorganisms collectively known as the gut microbiota. Maintaining a healthy balance of gut bacteria and supporting optimal gut function is crucial for overall health and well-being.
Common Gut Health and Digestive Issues
Digestive issues can arise from various factors, including diet, lifestyle, stress, genetics, and underlying medical conditions. Here are some common gut health and digestive issues that our gut health nutritionists can address:
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
IBS is a common digestive disorder characterized by abdominal pain, bloating, changes in bowel habits (such as diarrhea or constipation), and discomfort. Our gut health nutritionists can help identify trigger foods, develop meal plans that support digestive comfort, and provide guidance on lifestyle factors that may influence IBS symptoms.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
GERD occurs when stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing symptoms such as heartburn, regurgitation, and discomfort. Our gut health nutritionists can provide recommendations on dietary modifications, portion control, and lifestyle changes that can help alleviate GERD symptoms.
Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)
SIBO is a condition characterized by an overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine. It can lead to symptoms such as bloating, gas, diarrhea, and nutrient malabsorption. Our gut health nutritionists can help develop nutrition plans that reduce bacterial overgrowth, support gut healing, and address underlying causes of SIBO.
Food Sensitivities and Intolerances
Food sensitivities and intolerances can contribute to digestive discomfort and other symptoms. Our gut health nutritionists can help identify trigger foods through elimination diets or specialized testing, and develop personalized meal plans that avoid these trigger foods while ensuring optimal nutrient intake.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
IBD, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, involves chronic inflammation of the digestive tract. Our gut health nutritionists can provide guidance on anti-inflammatory diets, nutrient-dense meal plans, and lifestyle modifications to support symptom management and overall well-being for individuals with IBD.
Celiac Disease
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder triggered by the ingestion of gluten. Our gut health nutritionists can help individuals with celiac disease navigate a gluten-free lifestyle, ensuring they receive adequate nutrients while avoiding gluten-containing foods.
Diverticulitis
Diverticulitis is a condition characterized by inflammation or infection of small pouches that develop in the walls of the colon. Our gut health nutritionists can provide recommendations on high-fiber diets, hydration, and other dietary modifications that can help manage symptoms and support gut health for individuals with diverticulitis.
