Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup Oat flour
  • 2 tbsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter, cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, oat flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold butter cubes to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or two forks to cut the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add almond milk and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1-inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits.
  7. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
